 About the RoleAs the Head of Junior School, you will oversee the leadership and management of Years K-4, reporting directly to the Principal. This critical leadership role combines strategic vision, operational oversight, and spiritual guidance, ensuring that students and staff thrive in a supportive, Christ-centered learning environment.Your responsibilities will include curriculum development, student wellbeing initiatives, and fostering professional growth among Junior School staff, all while upholding the school’s mission and values.

Key ResponsibilitiesSpiritual Leadership:  

  • Serve as a spiritual role model for students, staff, and families. 
  • Lead faith-based initiatives, including prayer, devotions, and integrating Christian values into daily school life.


Educational Leadership: 

  • Collaborate with the Principal and leadership team to implement strategic goals for the Junior School. 
  • Drive curriculum development aligned with the Australian Curriculum, with a focus on STEAM education and teaching excellence.


Student Wellbeing:

  •  Oversee the pastoral care and wellbeing of students, creating a safe and nurturing environment. 
  • Develop and lead programs that support students’ personal and spiritual growth, while managing discipline and behaviour issues effectively.


Staff Leadership and Development:

  •  Mentor and guide Junior School staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional development.
  •  Lead recruitment, induction, and performance management for staff in the Junior School.


Operational Oversight:• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Junior School, including timetabling, budget management, and event coordination.• Ensure the effective use of school facilities and resources.Community Engagement:• Build strong relationships with parents, fostering trust and collaboration.• Represent the Junior School at community events and maintain positive connections with the broader community.

 Essential CriteriaChristian Faith and Leadership:• Demonstrated commitment to Christian values and experience leading faith-based activities.Strategic Vision:• Proven ability to implement and lead strategic initiatives that align with the school’s mission.Educational Expertise:• Extensive experience in primary education, with a deep understanding of literacy, numeracy, and STEAM education practices.Student Wellbeing:• Strong background in pastoral care, with a commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment.Staff Leadership:• Experience mentoring and managing teams, including staff recruitment and performance reviews.

 Desirable Criteria• Familiarity with STEAM initiatives in primary education.• Background in Christian education, including faith-based curriculum principles.
