Experienced Head Chef required for a busy and well-loved Southern Peninsula venue. You'll be working at our flagship restaurant, cooking up a varied menu of well-loved classics, with lots of modern comfort food thrown in as well. We're famous for our breakfasts, delicious lunches, intimate dinners, and great service, and you'll be an integral part of our team of nearly fifty, and not just a number. We pride ourselves on our simple offerings, renowned service, and having fun on the job. We don't believe in egos, and we work as a unit without any divide between the back and front of the house. We have a dedicated HR department, excellent working hours (mainly day shifts), paid overtime, and support from both above and below to help you in your role. With close to ten years under our belt as a company and two other venues close by, help is always at hand. However, you'll be able to get creative, bring your ideas to fruition, and help us get to the next stage of our journey, and yours. Although we have quite a few staff on the books, we consider ourselves a tight-knit and well-oiled team, with many being on the books for five, six, or seven years plus. We look to retain staff as much as possible while giving those more transient the necessary skills to take the next step. As head chef, you will be required to deal with all aspects of the running of the kitchen, including rostering, ordering, food preparation, ensuring health and hygiene practices are adhered to, menu planning and creation and all the other hundreds of jobs that are part of the day to day life in the kitchen. Above you will be the group's executive chef to help you succeed in the role, inspire you with the menu creation and specials, offer support with staff and kitchen operations, and also provide ongoing training, not just on the tools, but with all aspects of managing the kitchen and your personal growth.
