Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Distribution Manager to oversee our logistics and supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse activities, transportation, and distribution processes to ensure efficient delivery of goods. Duties- Develop and implement effective category management strategies to optimise inventory and product flow.
- Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions.
- Manage warehouse activities including picking, packing, materials handling, and forklift operations.
- Utilise transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and AS400 platforms to coordinate distribution activities.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to streamline supply chain operations.
- Analyse data related to logistics performance metrics to identify areas for optimisation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment within the warehouse.
- Supervise a team of warehouse staff, providing training and support as needed.
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service departments to meet delivery deadlines.
Requirements- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management or warehouse operations.
- Strong knowledge of category management, process improvement, and supply chain optimisation techniques.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms, including AS400 systems.
- Hands-on experience with shipping & receiving procedures, materials handling equipment such as forklifts, and picking & packing processes.
- Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex logistics data for decision-making purposes.
- Familiarity with 3PL providers and third-party logistics coordination.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Relevant certifications in logistics or warehouse management are desirable but not essential.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. This role is integral to maintaining seamless distribution operations that support our organisational growth and customer satisfaction objectives.
Pay: £45,000.00-£49,000.00 per yearBenefits:
