Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)
Hourly Rate: $55 USD per hour
Contract Type: W-2 or Corp-to-Corp (H1B, GC, USC accepted)
Position Overview:The IT Project Manager II will operate as a Servant Leader and facilitator for 2-3 Agile teams, ensuring the effective implementation of Scrum and Kanban principles. The successful candidate will be a strong negotiator, have excellent logic and problem-solving skills, and drive to make a difference. We need an individual that puts the team before themselves. They will be responsible for enforcing the rules of Scrum, removing impediments from their team, while promoting self-management and consistently driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities: Liaison & Communication:- Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments.
- Communicate with other management, developers, product owners, and technical support specialists on product issues.
- Coach the team on best practices including maintaining a healthy backlog, developing high-quality user stories, estimating, and delivery.
Development:- Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings.
- Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress.
- Maintain process documentation.
- Ensure team members are practicing core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
Application Support:- Assist as needed with backlog maintenance and reviewing quality of user stories.
- Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
- Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects and bugs.
Management:- Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team working agreements, standards, and tools.
- Develop and manage team performance metrics, leveraging them to drive efficiencies in the process.
- Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions.
- Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution.
- Empower the team to self-organize.
Required Qualifications: Formal Education & Certification:- Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems design, computer science, or equivalent work experience (10+ years).
- Must be a Certified Scrum Master (MUST).
- Scaled Agile (SAFe) Certification (MUST).
- PMP from PMI is a plus.
Experience:- 15+ years of overall professional experience.
- Scrum Master or Business Analyst experience is preferred.
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
- Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Understanding of the organization's development platform and languages.
- Ability to understand technical issues.

Work Arrangement:- Location: 109 Governor St, Richmond, VA 23219
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (onsite as required)
- Local Requirement: Local to Virginia or nearby states (EST time zone). Valid state driver's license required.
Additional Requirements:- Candidates must physically reside within the United States for the entire duration of the assignment (no offshore resources).
