Journeyman Linemen / Powerline Technicians (PLTs) in Canada who are interested in long‑term U.S. work opportunities. We provide full support for the required

About the RoleAs a Journeyman Lineman, you will perform construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of energized and de‑energized distribution and transmission lines. This work includes overhead and underground systems in varying environments and weather conditions.You will work as part of a highly skilled crew committed to safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Construct, maintain, and repair overhead & underground distribution and transmission lines
- Install and replace line equipment including transformers, switches, crossarms, insulators, and conductors
- Perform energized work using rubber‑glove and hot‑stick techniques
- Climb poles and operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and related utility equipment
- Perform system troubleshooting and fault locating
- Install and maintain underground cabling, vaults, and pedestals
- Maintain strict adherence to all safety regulations, clearances, grounding, and work practices
- Interpret blueprints, staking sheets, and system maps
- Respond to storms, outages, and after‑hours emergencies as required
- Mentor apprentices and support crew leadership
Required Qualifications- Certified Journeyman Lineman / PLT (IBEW, Red Seal, Provincially Certified, or NCCO equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in utility distribution, transmission, or construction
- Ability to work at heights, climb poles, and operate utility equipment
- Ability to work in adverse weather and remote locations
- Valid driver’s licence (CDL an asset but not required for Canadian applicants)
- Strong commitment to safe work practices
- Experience performing energized work (rubber glove, hot stick, etc.)
Preferred Assets- Valid First Aid/CPR
- Experience with smart‑grid, AMI, or SCADA systems
- Underground splicing and terminating experience
Compensation & Work Conditions- Average $60/hour
- Up to $200/day per diem
- All U.S. immigration legal and consulate fees fully paid by RokPower
- Travel between sites required; ability to work anywhere in the U.S. is essential
- Work performed outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
