Are you a Clinical Practitioner with an interest and experience in Osteoporosis? Position Description | [Insert Link] Moū - About you We are looking for applications from a Medical Professional to provide clinical oversight of the Fracture Liaison Service. Under the Live Stronger for Longer alliance, Hauora Tairawhiti partners with the Accident Compensation Corporation, whanau and communities, to better support falls and fracture prevention, and reduce the impact of a fall or fracture on the independence and wellbeing of our aging population. In this role, you will: 1. Provide clinical oversight for challenging patients encountered by our Fracture Liaison Coordinator. 2. Has a good understanding of osteoporosis and fragility fractures 3. A sound understanding of anti-osteoporotic medications 4. Support delivery of high-quality care related to falls prevention across the Tairawhiti community 5. Liaisons with other stakeholders relating to FLS workflow to enable smooth coordination of care, service improvement, and integration 6. Has an awareness of current patient pathways at local healthcare settings 7. Be committed to listening to the voice of service users and the community regarding injury prevention, and work collaboratively with others employing trans-disciplinary practice approaches 8. Clear and effective communicator with patients, whanau and other professionals 9. Committed to quality assurance, service development and improvement. 10. Provide oversight to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the falls clinics, hip fracture registry and fracture liaison services 11. Be committed to enabling equity for Maori, with a commitment to Te Tiriti of Waitangi, and Te Ao Maori perspectives and practices This position is being offered as a part-time role, as this aligns with the contract between Hauora Tairawhiti and the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) to 30 June 2027. You will be required to bring excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to problem solve and when necessary, work under pressure. The role is supported by the Te Ara Tiaki Pakeke Service Manager, and hospital leads.
