Job Description:

Locum Appointment for Training (LAT) in Renal / Internal Medicine University Hospital Monklands A vacancy exists for the above post within University Hospital Monklands from February 2025 for a period of six months. The successful candidate will work within the medical directorate and be on the senior on-call rota where they will have exposure to the acute medical take and medical high dependency care. They will be based within the renal team, and have exposure to a range of clinical and educational situations relevant to the training curricula, as well as an educational supervisor. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to audit, research, governance and education during their six month post. This would be an ideal post for someone embarking on a career in renal medicine, but may also allow for deeper understanding of renal medicine relevant to progression in any other internal medical specialty. A LAT appointment is recognised for training purposes However, the decision to award training recognition to any given post has to be determined by the interview panel based on an assessment of the applicant’s experience (please see the person specification within the job pack) Individuals who have trained out with the UK process will be supported in this role where there will be a robust induction period that will help individuals integrate into the role. Our induction will extend to a two weeks softer landing period for successful candidates dependent on your experience. Accommodation may be available for those who reside out with NHS Lanarkshire area for an initial period of 3 months to allow successful candidates to relocate to the area.
