OB/GYN Program Director - Reading Hospital
Reading Hospital is seeking a dynamic and dedicated
Program Director to lead its ACGME-accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Residency Program. The Program Director will be responsible for the overall administration, oversight, and academic leadership of the residency program, ensuring compliance with all ACGME program requirements and maintaining a culture of clinical excellence, education, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration
- Serve as the educational and administrative leader of the OB/GYN residency program.
- Maintain overall accountability for program operations, accreditation compliance, and continuous quality improvement.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, evaluation, promotion, and remediation or dismissal of residents.
- Ensure timely completion and verification of resident educational milestones and graduation documentation.
- Establish and manage a leadership team (e.g., associate/assistant program directors) as appropriate to support program needs.
Curriculum & Educational Oversight
- Design and implement a curriculum that addresses ACGME Core Competencies and community/population health needs.
- Ensure an effective learning environment that supports resident wellness, diversity, and professionalism.
- Foster a culture of scholarly activity and innovation in medical education.
Faculty Management
- Appoint, evaluate, and, when necessary, remove faculty and core faculty across all participating training sites.
- Support faculty development in education, supervision, and mentorship of residents.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure program compliance with ACGME, institutional, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Submit timely and accurate data to the ACGME, GMEC, and DIO.
- Ensure appropriate grievance and due process procedures are followed for residents.
Resident Support & Advocacy
- Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment for resident feedback and concerns.
- Promote resident wellness, professional development, and psychological safety.
- Protect residents from intimidation, retaliation, or discrimination.

Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree with current medical licensure.
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the ABOG or AOBOG.
- A minimum of three (3) years of documented educational and/or administrative experience relevant to graduate medical education.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, and scholarly activities.
