Minara Resources has an opportunity for Trainer & Assessor to join our established and dedicated team.

Minara Resources is Australia's largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. The Role
Reporting to the Training Coordinator, this challenging and rewarding role involves hands-on development and delivery of course material, conducting individual competency assessments and coordinating document management. You will have the opportunity to work one on one with people as well as be involved in our ISO9001 certification.

You will be responsible for conducting statutory, duty of care and high-risk work training as well as updating current training programs, assisting with the development of new training courses to meet business requirements and undertaking administrative tasks associated with training and assessing.

Key Tasks Include:
  • Conducting theory and practical assessments, including:

  • Safe Work at Height
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus
  • Site and Area Inductions
  • Job Hazard Analysis (JSEA and StepBack 2x2)
  • Area Muster/Evacuation Procedure;
  • Atmospheric Testing
  • Work Permit Acceptor
  • High Risk Work Licence (e.g. WP, LF)
  • Mobile Equipment (Skidsteer, Telehandler, Front End Loader)
  • Delivering processing plant inductions;
  • Developing training packages;
  • Managing and maintaining training records and learning paths in Oracle Learning Management; and
  • Conducting fit testing for various full and half face respirators.

About You
To be considered for this role, you will require the following:
  • A high level of health, safety and environmental awareness;
  • Demonstrated recent experience in delivering training in a minerals processing or refining operation and associated current qualifications;
  • A willingness to complete administration tasks associated with keeping accurate training records and maintaining an on-line learning portal;
  • Previous experience in reviewing, developing and writing training packages;
  • A high level written and spoken English language skills;
  • Sound computer literacy with basic level skills in MS Office and proficient in using Oracle;
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessing (TAE40116), or currently working towards;
  • High Risk Licence; and
  • WA “C” Class Driver's Licence.
