About the RoleReporting to the
National Operations Manager and working closely with Site Mangers and Production Coordinators, the National Technical Manager is responsible for providing specialist technical expertise across our salt production operations.
This pivotal role will drive operational performance, technical capability and process improvement initiatives across multiple geographically dispersed sites. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, supporting operational leaders to optimise production outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership across all salt production operations.
- Optimise solar salt production processes, including brine management, crystallisation systems and harvest operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality and operational performance.
- Analyse operational data and provide insights to support informed decision-making.
- Build technical capability through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Support sites in troubleshooting complex operational challenges and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to achieve production targets, quality standards and budget outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and challenge existing practices to achieve better business outcomes.
- Contribute to strategic planning and future operational requirements across the business.
- Develop strong stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes without direct line authority.
About YouYou are a strategic and results-oriented technical professional with a strong background in production, operations or process optimisation. You possess excellent communication skills and can effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Proven leadership experience, preferably within industrial, resources, manufacturing, agriculture or similar industries.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical, supervisory or operational leadership role.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Ecology, Process Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
- Experience or exposure to earthmoving equipment and associated operations.
- Knowledge of water management principles and practices.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience with production planning and operational optimisation.
- Financial acumen, including budget management and cost control.
- Strategic planning and continuous improvement capabilities.
- The ability to work effectively in a food manufacturing environment.
- A self-motivated, results-driven approach with the ability to work independently.
Experience within the salt production industry will be highly regarded; however, candidates from related industries such as resources, mining, agriculture, chemical processing or manufacturing are encouraged to apply.
