POSITION AVAILABLE Bowman Farm is hiring, as we are looking to expand our team moving forward and have an exciting opportunity to add to the team a stock person/ animal husbandry-based role within our family owned and operated 600 cow dairy farm. Located 10km from Gloucester on the Mid Coast NSW.Applications open now, starting date of this position is: Monday 03/08/2026 About Bowman Farm: Our family has been farming on Bowman Farm for over 100 years, with the 3rd and 4th generation of Middlebrooks currently managing the business. We pride ourselves on being a long-term business of our area, trading and providing employment within the Mid coast region. 
Our herd is predominantly Holstein based, we milk twice per day every day of the year, and calve our cows year-round. We are a predominantly pasture based system that also feed a total mixed ration to our herd when required. We are a growing business that is looking to maintain a strong farming position in our industry and in our beautiful Gloucester area. Technology in our industry is well welcomed on Bowman Farm including cow monitoring collars for animal health and reproduction status, Water use efficiency monitoring via soil moisture monitoring probes.The dairy is a fully automated 30 a-side herringbone rapid exit, containing auto I.D, auto feed, auto cup removal, auto draft etc, with the current up to date cow monitoring and record keeping software via Delpro. We have recently undergone a solar power system update, to allow us to work 90% of our operating hours off grid via solar and battery storage power.  Our business always provides training for staff both internally and through external courses for the team to gain further understanding of their roles, as we enjoy watching people thrive, better themselves and grow a passion for farming.   The role available: The role has flexibility to be fulfilled as full time, part time or casual to suit an individual’s preference, and is approximately 40 hours per week.If desired, the successful applicant may have a flexible roster with split shifts tailored to suit their individual requirements. Weekend work will be factored into the roster, working every second weekend. Our roster arrangement can be tailored to suit both an individual’s preferences together with our needs.We always pay all staff above award wages, and every weekend is calculated as overtime.The job description involves and is not limited to:·      Supporting with cow transition periods and pre-calving monitoring of cows.·      Assisting with the team on large days of stock work being carried out·      Assisting with day to day running’s of the farm when extra hands required. ·      Data entry of animal treatments for consistent record keeping of stock·      Milking and the understanding of milk harvesting processes and animal movements throughout the farm.·      The complete raising and care of calves and young stock from newborn to 6 months old. The preferred applicant must be passionate about and have either have or be willing to obtain a strong understanding of animal welfare with animal health and hygiene being a strong priority as well as record keeping, vaccinations, animal monitoring, drenching etc. We are happy to attract international applicants as our business is registered to sponsor persons from overseas wishing to seek residency within Australia. We are currently sponsoring staff in our team and are happy to add others to the team. In this space, preference will be given to those that are already in Australia.
