About the roleEmbers Fusion Indian Restaurant is seeking an experienced Indian Curry & Tandoor Chef to join our professional kitchen team in Shellharbour. We operate a large, busy Indian restaurant with a high-volume kitchen, so we are looking for a chef who is confident working under pressure while maintaining consistency, presentation and quality. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef looking for stable, long-term employment and career progression.Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide range of traditional Indian curries, sauces and gravies
• Operate the tandoor and prepare naan breads, tikkas, kebabs and other tandoori dishes
• Maintain consistency in taste, portioning and presentation
• Complete food preparation and mise en place for service
• Work efficiently during high-volume lunch and dinner services
• Follow recipes, portion controls and kitchen procedures
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
• Assist with stock rotation, storage and minimising food wastage
• Work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team
• Assist across different kitchen sections when required

About you

• Previous professional experience as an Indian Curry Chef and/or Tandoor Chef
• Strong knowledge of authentic Indian cooking techniques, spices, marinades and gravies
• Experience operating a commercial tandoor
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment
• Strong attention to food quality and consistency
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A reliable, professional and hardworking attitude
• Knowledge of Australian food safety and hygiene requirements
• Australian commercial kitchen experience is highly regarded
