About the area The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering under the School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing is renowned for its award-winning researchers, teachers and facilities. About the opportunity

• Deliver high-quality teaching and coordination across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Computer Science and related disciplines, contributing to curriculum development and student learning.
• Build a strong research profile through publications, grant funding and collaborations, while supervising Honours, Masters and PhD students.
• Contribute to the academic community through service to the University and discipline, and make a sustained long-term impact on teaching and research excellence.

About you

• PhD in Computer Science or an academic field relevant to the discipline or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to the discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in the discipline of Mathematics.
• Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles.

Level B, you will:

• Demonstrated ability to deliver teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses.
• A demonstrated track record in excellence in research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in high quality journals relative to opportunity.
• A demonstrated emerging track record of successful competitive funding application.
• Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision or co-supervision of HDR students, relative to opportunity.
• Participation in education/research leadership in public engagements that promote research and/or education outcome, government and industry.

Level C, you will:

• Demonstrated excellence in the development and delivery of curricula and the use of innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses.
• Experience in the mentoring of junior colleagues, demonstrators and tutors, where relevant.
• A strong track record of excellence in research at a national level evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in high quality journals and conferences.
• A demonstrated track record of success in awarded competitive funding.
• Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision of HDR students, Masters and Honours students.
• Demonstrated experience of leading public engagement activities that promote research and/or education outcomes, government and industry.
