The OpportunityJames Cook University is seeking a dedicated and experienced veterinary professional to join our team as a
Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Small Animal Surgery. Based in our purpose-built
Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Townsville, this full-time continuing role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to clinical teaching, service delivery, and veterinary research.You’ll work alongside a dynamic and supportive team to educate the next generation of veterinarians, contribute to curriculum innovation, and support the delivery of high-quality clinical care in small animal surgery.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching in small animal surgery to undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Supervise students, interns, and residents in clinical settings
- Contribute to research, scholarly activity, and curriculum development
- Collaborate with industry partners and contribute to professional engagement
- Support the development of a world-class veterinary program focused on tropical, rural, and regional veterinary practice
About You- Veterinary degree registrable in Queensland (or eligibility for registration)
- Postgraduate qualifications in small animal surgery (e.g. MANZCVS, FANZCVS, Dipl. ECVS or ACVS)
- Experience in clinical teaching and supervision within a veterinary hospital
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused, collaborative approach
- Passion for student learning and innovation in veterinary education
What We Offer- Academic Level C: $125,576 – $144,453 + 17% superannuation
- Academic Level D: $150,615 – $165,959 + 17% superannuation
