Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated pharmacists to join our Medicine Team as Deputy Divisional Lead Pharmacist . This full‑time role offers the chance to develop advanced clinical, leadership and service‑development skills while contributing directly to high‑quality patient care across the Trust. Although primarily based at King’s Mill Hospital, occasional cover at Newark Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital may be required.

The successful candidate will receive structured training to deliver high‑level clinical pharmacy support across several high‑risk medication areas. Our pharmacy department is committed to staff development, and you will gain experience across the RPS Professional Standards for Hospital Pharmacy Services. You will also be supported to complete an independent prescribing qualification and apply this skill at ward level.

Key responsibilities include leading a team of pharmacists and Medicines Management Technicians within the division, participating in specialist clinical governance meetings as deputy to the Divisional Lead, and delivering training to non‑pharmacy colleagues. You will contribute to safe medicines practice through risk assessments, clinical guideline development, audit activity and medicines expenditure analysis. This role offers an excellent platform for career progression within a supportive and forward‑thinking department.

We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.

We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.

We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
