Monash University invites applications for a full-time, 3-year PhD position focused on the study of bias in generative AI-driven decision systems. This interdisciplinary research will examine the impact of generative AI on trust, compliance, and human judgment, with a particular emphasis on ethical governance and responsible AI.
The successful candidate will collaborate with experts from Monash Business School and the Faculty of Information Technology, utilizing experimental methods, cognitive modeling, and regulatory analysis to investigate how AI explanations affect human behavior.
Requirements
– Background in one or more of the following fields: behavioral science, cognitive science, data science, psychology, human-computer interaction, law, or related disciplines
– Strong interest in AI, decision-making, and ethical governance
– Ability to develop a research proposal relevant to the topic
Additional Details
– Location: Caulfield campus, with collaboration opportunities at Clayton campus
– Stipend: $36,063 per annum (tax-free, 2025 RTP rate)
– Open to both domestic and international applicants
