We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, specialising in sushi preparation, and will be responsible for creating authentic and visually appealing sushi dishes. • Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used in accordance with food safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station and kitchen area
• Assist in developing new sushi recipes and presentation styles to enhance menu offerings
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
• Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and food handling procedures at all times
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during busy periods
• Serve dishes to customers with professionalism and attention to detail

Requirements

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a restaurant setting
• Strong knowledge of sushi making techniques, including fish filleting and rice preparation
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a professional kitchen
• Previous restaurant experience preferred, particularly in Japanese cuisine or similar culinary environments
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with precision
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain relevant qualifications prior to employment is desirable
