MARITIME CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
Location: Auckland, New Zealand (on-site)
Project Type: Maritime Infrastructure
Initial Project Duration: 8 months. Once part of our team, we will strive to transition you into new projects within Protecnium as this one nears completion.
Company Overview Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are actively seeking a Maritime Construction Manager to join our team for an Infrastructure Project located near Auckland, New Zealand.
About the Position This is a strategic position within a maritime infrastructure project, focusing on the planning, feasibility, and technical coordination required during the tender and pre-construction phase. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a competitive bid for a large-scale marine construction initiative that may include floating docks, coastal protection, or port infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical planning and feasibility assessments for maritime infrastructure works in the PPP context.
  • Design construction strategies for dredging, reclamation, jetties, berths, and related port structures.
  • Perform site visits and technical surveys to support the development of the bid.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, legal, finance, BD) to build a strong PPP proposal.
  • Ensure all planning complies with international standards and marine-specific regulations (IMO, HSE).
  • Identify construction risks and opportunities within the contract and bid documents.
  • Support cost estimation and logistics planning through deep technical input.
  • Collaborate with authorities and project stakeholders to align technical approaches with expectations.
  • Produce technical documentation, analysis reports, and presentation materials for the PPP submission.
  • Participate in risk analysis and contractual discussions during the bidding process.


Must-have Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marine or maritime infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated involvement in the bid/tender phase of PPP infrastructure projects.
  • High-level proficiency in English (C1 or higher).
  • Strong knowledge of international standards for maritime construction.
  • Availability for on-site presence (north of Auckland) and occasional travel.


Desirable Qualifications
  • Specific experience with PPP contracts in marine works.
  • Previous international experience or similar regulatory environments.
  • Advanced understanding of construction logistics and cost modeling in maritime contexts.
  • Familiarity with BIM or digital construction planning tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in international and cross-functional teams.


Work Schedule: Monday to Friday- 10 hours daily (day shift)
