About Us: Mala Town Mala Town is a rapidly expanding restaurant brand specializing in authentic Malatang. Since opening our first location in October 2023, we have grown to nine stores across Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, and the San Francisco Bay Area, with over 100 employees.
Our mission is to introduce Malatang to a broader audience across the U.S., while our vision is to expand to 50 locations within the next 3-5 years and establish ourselves as a leading fast-casual chain.
Key Responsibilities Financial & Accounting Management
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks.
- Ensure timely recognition of transactions and review financial documentation.
- Conduct account reconciliations and manage cash flow.
- Prepare financial reports to support business decisions and fundraising efforts.
Expense & Vendor Management
- Review purchase orders, pricing, and payment terms, ensuring cost control.
- Manage vendor relationships and process accounts payable.
- Investigate and resolve billing/payment discrepancies.
Payroll & Tax Compliance
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently.
- File state sales tax returns and coordinate with external tax accountants for annual filings.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Ensure efficient financial workflows and maintain accurate records.
- Organize and manage financial documentation.
- Assist with ad hoc accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Fluency in Chinese is required.
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace (Google Drive, Google Sheets, etc.).
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or ADP is preferred but not required.
