Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Logistics Manager to oversee and optimise our supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing category management, process improvement initiatives, and transportation management systems to ensure efficient movement of goods. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with a strong background in logistics, warehouse management, and data analysis to contribute to the continuous improvement of our logistics functions. The Logistics Manager will lead a team involved in shipping & receiving, materials handling, and warehouse activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational excellence. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement category management strategies to optimise inventory levels and reduce costs.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives across all logistics functions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline operations.
  • Oversee third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring service levels meet organisational standards.
  • Coordinate shipping & receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
  • Utilise ERP systems such as AS400 for order processing, inventory control, and reporting purposes.
  • Supervise materials handling operations, including the safe use of forklifts and other equipment.
  • Analyse logistics data to identify trends, optimise routes, and improve overall supply chain performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within warehouse environments.
  • Lead a team of warehouse staff involved in picking & packing activities, providing training as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support supply chain planning and execution.

Experience
  • Proven experience in logistics management within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of category management, process optimisation, and supply chain principles.
  • Hands-on experience with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400, and data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with third-party logistics (3PL) operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling equipment including forklifts.
  • Demonstrable skills in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma are desirable.
  • Previous warehouse experience involving picking & packing processes is essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
