Junior Mechanical Engineer

Wellumio is a New Zealand medical technology company developing Axana, a portable AI-enhanced magnetic resonance brain imaging system designed to accelerate stroke diagnosis at the point of care.A Junior Mechanical Engineer is an entry-level engineering professional who assists with the design, development, testing, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment under the guidance of senior engineers. Typical Job Description Key responsibilities:

• Assist in designing mechanical components and systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or SolidWorks).
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Support product development, manufacturing, and testing activities.
• Conduct calculations and engineering analyses.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues and implementing solutions.
• Participate in site inspections and equipment commissioning when required.
• Ensure designs comply with safety standards and engineering regulations.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, production teams, suppliers, and clients.
• Prepare project reports and maintain engineering records.
