Job Description:
Job Summary:
Located 10km north of Saskatoon, Northern Farm Foods Ltd is a producer owned Non-GMO Canola Processing Facility. We are currently seeking an individual to join our Plant Maintenance Department team. Responsibility:
  • The main responsibilities of this job will be to ensure that all Plant equipment and facilities are maintained in good working order through inspection, monitoring and established maintenance routines.
  • Maintain and service all production machinery, mechanical equipment, and systems in the plant facility to ensure trouble free operation.
  • Assist in facilitating preventative maintenance program, including reporting of all suspect facility and operational issues to Maintenance Manager and follow through with directed resolution.
  • Provide support to the manufacturing operations through positive interaction with the production department, and other departmental support efforts, for timely resolution of in-process production/equipment concerns.
  • Conduct all work according to established procedures, policies, and standards
  • Will be on call for after hours issues on a rotating basis after sufficient training.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • The ideal applicant will have strong mechanical aptitude, with good problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Good health and ability to work in physically challenging environment.
  • Ability to work in various working conditions (Hot, Cold, Dusty, Wet. Etc.) with minimal supervision.
  • Previous maintenance experience in a canola/food processing environment would be an asset.
  • Previous training/experience with forklifts and other mobile equipment would be an asset.
  • This is an entry level maintenance position.
